General Motors has upped the ante in product placement to target 20-30 year old men. No, it’s not a car featured in the latest Bond blockbuster. It’s in a DC comic.

In fact, the Pontiac Solstice could be the next Batmobile if GM can make it happen.

The big gun car maker has made its GXP the tricked out vehicle of choice for a big gunned NYC vigilante. Think Max Payne starring in Grand Theft Auto.

The six-part “Rush City” hits comic stores July 19 in what is the first fully funded series by a car maker whose sole purpose is target a bloodthirsty car lovin demographic.

And the hero of Rush City isn’t driving stock. He’s pimped the GXP with shotguns and other gadgets to save the lives of others.

And the trend seems set to continue. DaimlerChrysler has paid Marvel to slip a Dodge into the Spiderman comix by the end of the year, a digital comic in the works to promote the the Dodge Caliber compact.
